Professor Chen Zheng is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Guangxi University. He is also a recipient of the National High-Level Young Talent Program and a Guangxi Teaching Model Teacher. He served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Alberta, Canada, from 2014 to 2015.
Professor Chen has received several prestigious awards, including the National Innovation and Excellence Medal, the Baosteel Excellent Teacher Award, the Guangxi Distinguished Young Scholars Fund, the Guangxi May 1st Labor Medal, the Guangxi Youth Science and Technology Award, and the Guangxi Youth May Fourth Medal. He is the Deputy Chair of the Rheology Technology Committee of the Chinese Ceramic Society, an editorial board member of *Journal of Civil Engineering* and *Journal of Sustainable Cement-Based Materials*, a member of the China Concrete Industry Expert Committee, Secretary-General of the Guangxi Silicate Society, and a member of the Teaching Advisory Committee for Civil Engineering at Guangxi universities.
Professor Chen's research focuses on key technologies for high-performance concrete in bridge engineering. He has provided crucial technological support for major national projects such as the world's largest span railway steel-concrete arch bridge on the Sichuan-Tibet Railway, the Pingnan Third Bridge (the world's largest span arch bridge), the Tian'e Longtan Super Bridge (under construction), and the Jinsha River Bridge on the Sichuan-Tibet Railway.
He has led three National Natural Science Foundation projects and ten provincial and ministerial-level projects. His research has resulted in 109 papers published in high-level journals, including *Cement and Concrete Research*, *Corrosion Science*, and *Journal of Civil Engineering* (35 papers indexed by SCI, 56 by EI, including 3 ESI highly cited papers), with over 600 citations. He holds 23 authorized national invention patents and has contributed to the preparation of two national standards and relevant chapters on concrete preparation and construction in 11 industry, group, and local standards.
Professor Chen's courses have been recognized as national first-class courses and national excellent online courses. He has received the Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, the Second Prize in the National College Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition, and the Special Prize of the Guangxi Teaching Achievement Award.
