Recently, Liao Wenjun, a member of the Party group and deputy director of the Autonomous Region's Science and Technology Department, came to the school for research and research to promote the construction of the State Key Laboratory of Featured Metal Materials and Life-cycle Safety for Composite Structures (hereinafter referred to as the SKL), and Vice President Feng Jiaxun accompanied the research.

At the forum, Liao Wenjun listened to the report on the construction and operation of the SKL since the establishment of the project. He stressed that the construction of the SKL is tight and the task is heavy, and the school should attach great importance to it, improve the political position, gather the superior resources of the whole school, improve the laboratory operation system and mechanism, and promote the overall work at a high level. It is necessary to standard the "five questions" and construction standards of the national key laboratory, closely focus on the national strategic needs, accurately identify the positioning and mission of the provincial ministry to build the national key laboratory, and change the thinking from "what can I do" to "what the country needs me to do". It is necessary to condense the advantages of SKL and organize superior forces to solve key problems.

Feng Jiaxun thanked the autonomous region science and Technology Department for its strong support to the school over a long period of time. He pointed out that the SKL must further refine the research direction, increase investment, optimize resource allocation, and carefully write the construction plan according to the opinions and suggestions put forward by the autonomous region science and Technology Department.

Before the meeting, Liao Wenjun and his delegation visited the exhibition hall of the SKL and the large-scale structural test platform of civil engineering, and deeply understood the construction and development history of the laboratory, research characteristics, scientific research achievements and industry-university-research cooperation, as well as the innovative measures and effects of the school in striving for comprehensive first-class in recent years. The achievements of the laboratory in interdisciplinary, scientific research, talent team and construction and operation were affirmed.
